September 7, 2006 Grant – Victims of Violent Crime:

Ms. Kenya Jones became the victim of multiple violent felonies, and the case is scheduled for jury
trial later this year. She is a young mother with four small children, two of whom are
developmentally delayed. She has been overwhelmed with medical bills and repairs to her
apartment doors and windows, which were broken as a result of the crime.  The District Attorney’s
Victim Witness Assistance Center has been working closely with Ms. Jones, and recommended
her to the NSLEOA as a candidate to receive the association’s grant. Prosecution of the suspects
is ongoing.

This grant was issued at the office of District Attorney David Roger, 200 Lewis Avenue, Las Vegas,
Nevada, on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 1:30 PM.. The public, representatives from the
community, judicial and law enforcement agencies, as well as the media were invited.  The
presentation aired on the KVBC Channel 3 Evening News.  In the photo below, District Attorney
David Roger is shown shaking hands with Kenya Jones after she received the grant of $3,000 from
NSLEOA President Ron Cuzze.
